Jason “Jay” Villareal, DPT, ATC |

Jay started with ProSport in June 2006. He splits his time
between the new ProSport athletic complex at Mater Dei high
school, where he works with student athletes, and the Newport
Beach clinic. In December 2000, Jay received his Bachelor's
degree in Social Science from the University of California,
Irvine. While at UCI, Jay was a student trainer for the men’s
tennis, baseball, rugby, soccer, volleyball, and basketball
teams. During that time, he also received his certification
in Athletic Training (ATC). In August 2003, Jay began the Doctorate
of Physical Therapy program at the University of Southern California.
While at USC, Jay served as the social chair for the student
body, and also assisted with research for the Muscle-Specific
Strengthening Effectiveness Post Lumbar Microdiscectomy (MUSSEL)
study. He has participated in numerous clinical internships,
including First Physical & Functional Rehab in Oahu, Hawaii;
Coast Physical Therapy in San Diego, California; LAC/USC Medical
Center in Los Angeles, California; Shriner’s Hospital
for Children in Los Angeles, California; Kaiser Permanente Hospital
Sunset in Los Angeles, California; and Rancho Los Amigos National
Rehab Center in Downey, California. Jay is an active member
of the American Physical Therapy Association, California Physical
Therapy Association and National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
