Gabriel Ignacio - PT, DPT, TPI1
Hometown: Hayward, CA
Bachelor's Degree: University of the Pacific - Sports Medicine, Psychology Minor
Graduate Degree: University of Southern California - Doctorate of Physical Therapy
Gabe's first exposure to health care and physical therapy was in high school when his brother suffered a traumatic brain injury. He witnessed his brother fight for recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration into a "normal" lifestyle. Motivated to provide the same high quality of care that his brother received, he found a great way to combine his passion for health care and his athletic/sports background through the physical therapy profession. He attended the University of the Pacific and received his Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine with a minor in Psychology in May 2014.
Gabe attended University of Southern California's DPT program, where he was an active member and treasurer of USC's Physical Therapy Multicultural Leadership Alliance, provided community service with USC's Fit Families and Southern California's Special Olympics World Games, and was an assistant coach for a girl's elementary school basketball team. On his free time he likes to play sports (basketball and golf the most), rock climb, camp, hike, snowboard, and try new food.
Gabe was excited to join the ProSport team in 2018 after graduating from the University of Southern California's DPT program in May 2017. Since graduation he became certified by the Titleist Performance Institute to provide movement assessments and swing analyses for golfers of all skill levels to develop their ideal swing. Furthermore, he co-founded The Basketball Doctors (@basketballdocs), a social-media platform that presents fundamental knowledge about injury prevention, movement optimization, performance enhancement, and evidence-based rehabilitation to the basketball community with the goal of enjoying basketball for life.
