John has been with ProSport for 10 years working to help clients achieve their optimal performance on and off the field of play. An Orange County native and resident of Rancho Santa Margarita, John attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School before heading to the University of San Francisco to pursue a degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences. Upon returning to Orange County, John continued to further his education to become the best performance coach and is a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Certified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.


As Head Sports Performance Coach at ProSport Performance, John brings a wealth of knowledge as an experienced professional in sports rehabilitation, injury prevention and sports performance training. He will oversee the daily operation and formulation of performance programs for small group and team training. He will work closely with Robert Spang, Director of Operation and Todd Riech, Director of Sports Performance to establish innovative training programs to further enhance the performance of ProSport’s athletes.


John has worked with a range of athletes from youth, high school, weekend warriors and collegiate to professionals to ensure that they are at the peak of their performance. He focuses on both the physical and mental aspects of sport/life to capitalize on performance. John believes that building a good foundation for every athlete is the key to achieving your full potential in life and this is achieved through testing and evaluating body mechanics. Once functional movement is evaluated, it allows our team to better construct a proper strength and conditioning program that will maximize each athletes abilities in their respective sport.


John has an innate understanding of the different training cycles of an athlete and blends his science based strategies with practical real world applications allowing him to get the most out of any athlete from the junior level to professional ranks. His relationship building programs within his training build trust and confidence with his athletes. John’s drive and determination in making his athletes the best they can be is second to none. He is a true motivator and ensures that each athlete leaves each session feeling great and knowing that their hard work will benefit them in every aspect of their sport.
