Coach Nick grew up playing basketball and discovered his passion for volleyball in his freshman year of high school. He went on to play 3 years of volleyball as a setter and then opposite at La Quinta High School in Westminster, CA.
Coach Nick started college intending to become a physical therapist, but after 3 years of experience as a physical therapy aide, he decided to change his focus of study to strength and conditioning. In 2020, he completed his Bachelor’s degree at California State University, Fullerton in Kinesiology with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning. After finishing his degree, Coach Nick finished his certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Coach Nick has had the opportunity to experience strength and conditioning in all different settings. He was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Laguna Beach High School and spent a short period of time at the University of California, San Diego as a strength and conditioning intern. Throughout his career as a coach, he has the most experience and has fallen in love with private and small group training. Coach Nick started his private training experience in 2019 at Athletic Republic of Orange County and has been with ProSport Performance since 2020.
He has experience coaching athletes of all ages and sports, but he specializes in volleyball and basketball. Coach Nick has had the opportunity to work with multiple volleyball athletes that have become D1 collegiate athletes.
His philosophy for coaching athletes is teaching athletes to know movement and weightlifting techniques as well as he does. Coach Nick helps athletes compete to the best of their abilities and emphasizes longevity in sport through proper coaching and communication with the athletes he works with.
